The tallow is infused with homegrown kawakawa and calendula and a touch of lavender essential oil adds a subtle scent that softens the natural aroma of tallow and brings a calming finish.

Every ingredient is chosen for its ability to soothe, restore, and deeply moisturise—making it a powerful remedy for dry, sensitive, or hardworking skin.

Tallow is rich in fat soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K which are all vital for healthy skin function and repair. Tallow also contains conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), known for its anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties, which can be helpful for conditions like eczema, dryness, and irritation. Kawakawa and calendula are infused as they calm irritation and support healing.

We blend in cold-pressed hemp seed oil not only for its essential fatty acids—omega-3 and omega-6, which help calm inflammation and deeply nourish the skin—but also because it gives the balm its beautifully whipped, soft texture. Without it, the tallow would be much firmer, but together they create a creamy, spreadable balm your skin will love.

Our balm comes in a glass jar with a natural cork lid — simple and reusable. It is available in two sizes 100ml and 200ml.

To keep your whipped tallow balm in top condition, store it in a cool place out of direct sunlight. Because it’s made with natural ingredients and no stabilisers, it may soften in warm weather or harden slightly when cold — this is totally normal. If it melts, just give it a stir and pop it in the fridge to firm up again. Always use clean, dry hands to avoid introducing moisture.

Q: What is tallow, and why is it good for the skin?
A: Tallow is a nutrient-rich, rendered fat from grass-fed cows. It closely mimics our skin's natural oils and is packed with vitamins A, D, E & K, as well as essential fatty acids that deeply moisturize and support skin repair.

Q: Does it smell like beef?
A: Nope! While tallow has a natural, mild scent, we’ve added a subtle hint of lavender to gently mask it. Most people find the scent earthy and pleasant.

Q: Is it greasy?
A: When used sparingly our whipped blend absorbs easily into the skin, leaving it soft, hydrated, and non-greasy.

Q: What skin types can use this
A: All skin types, from dry, sensitive, oily, combination and aging skin. Patch test first if you’re unsure.

Q: Can I use it on my face?
A: Yes! It’s gentle enough for face and body use, and especially good for dry or sensitive skin types.

Q: Does the cork lid stay on securely?
A: The cork lid is sealed with paper tape for its journey to you. Once opened, it fits snuggly when pressed in tight — perfect for sitting on a shelf or bench. However, since it's not a screw-top, it may come loose if tossed around in a bag, so we recommend storing it upright or transferring it to a more secure container if you're taking it on the go.

A: Ours is handmade in small batches using tallow from cows raised on our own land, blended with cold-pressed NZ hemp seed oil and homegrown kawakawa and calendula for added skin-loving benefits.
